Hello Cody

"There's a new Sheriff Deputy in town... and my name is Cody".

I realize I have some pretty big shoes to fill with Sam being gone and all. But he did pass on some words of wisdom to me; "The greatest risk in life is not taking any".
I'm not sure what that means yet, but I think it has something to do begging for food whenever possible.

Kaci just loves having a full-time playmate. She's like my big sister and maternal guide all in one.

I was born December 21st, 2006 into a Veterinarian's family, adopted (briefly) by a great family out near Multnomah Falls, and taken home in February 2007 to live with Kaci and Sam.

People tell me I'm a Newfy/Lab mix "just like Chewy" (whatever that means). I weighed 20 pounds at my last Vet visit and bets are that I'll be a 65-85 pound guy when I grow up.

Sam - In Memoriam (Oct 1994 - March 2007)

After 13.5 years, Sam decided he was too tired to keep up with the next generation. He passed on everything he knew about manners to Kaci and spent some quality time with new puppy Cody. We will miss him.

He was our first dog upon moving to Portland and was the most loyal and well trained.

"Golden Bear", "James Blond" and "Sammy" were some of his nicknames.

Very few knew his name actually stood for "Surface to Air Mutt", a name alluding to his owners prior military experience.

He amassed quite a large vocabulary, forcing his owners to frequently spell words; such as "W-A-L-K" and "P-A-R-K"; to avoid unnecessarily raising his expectations.

When asked of his greatest accomplishment, he would simply reply "Outliving Chewy".
